Capacity building Training in Constitution Building for ASEAN Member Countries: The Dynamics of Power Sharing

The Constitution Building Programme of International IDEA, in partnership with the Non-Aligned Movement Center for South-South Technical Cooperation (NAM-CSSTC), is jointly organizing an upcoming training event in Jakarta, Indonesia, 13-17 June 2011.  The training is on The Dynamics of Power Sharing, one of the eight modules of the Constitution Building Training Programme. It is planned that approximately 25 participants drawn from legislatures, executive arms of government, political parties and movements, civil society, and the media across ASEAN member countries and Timor Leste will participate in the upcoming training. First Asia Pilot Workshop of the Capacity Training Programme for Constitution Building Practitioners

Organized in partnership with Civic Exchange an independent Hong Kong-based public policy think tank, this event was one in a series of training workshops across the Global South by International IDEA to pilot its Constitution-building Training Curriculum currently under development. The objective of the pilot training was to field test draft modules and to assess how to impact the practice of constitution building in Asia through training and capacity building.
