Egypt's daring constitutional gang of 50

Brown</strong></em></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>There have been more stirring declarations of independence, but in Egypt's constricted political environment, this one was still bold. Article 18 of the <a href="vl/item/rules-procedure-amr-mousa-constituent-assembly-2013" target="_blank">bylaws</a> of Egypt's "committee of 50" drafting constitutional amendments proudly proclaims that the committee will complete its work in 60 days "not counting official holidays."</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><div>[toc hidden:1]</div>
