Myanmar opposition seeks Australian support for constitutional reform push

<p>A visit to Australia by a key figure in Myanmar's Opposition party the National League for Democracy indicates the strength of the push towards constitutional reform the Party of Aung San Suu Kyi is becoming involved in internationally.</p><p>With elections due in 2015 as the Constitution stands Ms Suu Kyi cannot run because family members are citizens of another country. </p><p>Additionally, 25 per cent of the seats in parliament are reserved for the military.</p><p>The leading member of the NLD's Committee for Legal Affairs and the Constitutional Amendment Committee, U Htay Oo, has travelled to Australia and spoken to members of the Australian Parliament's Foreign Affairs Defence and Trade Committee.</p>
