The Thai constitution of 1997: Sources and Process

This academic publication covers the political and social history of Thailand leading up to demands for political reform and the eventual drafting of the 1997 constitution. The article also discusses the problems that reformers sought to address as well as the roots causes of these particular issues. Another section of the paper describes the forces that allowed reformers to organize and manifest themselves as a powerful political force. Lastly, this article analyzes the drafting process, including its various goals and controversies.
