Sri Lankan president declines electoral commission's request to refer poll postponement issues to court

Secretary to the President Dr. P .B. Jayasundara wrote to the Election Commission (EC) yesterday, turning down a request to seek guidance from the Supreme Court to seek clarity on the date of the meeting of the new Parliament, in view of the postponement of the Parliamentary Election that was scheduled for 25 April.
