Kenya: For the Nubians, the Constitution Promise May Be Slow in Coming but It Is Real

<p>In the foreword to Kenya’s Nubians Then &amp; Now by Gregory Constantine (2011), Yash Ghai argues that the true test of the effective implementation of the constitution and birth of new Kenya nation will be best witnessed in how communities such as the Nubians are now treated and integrated into social, political and economic life of the country. This is a critical statement, especially when one looks at one of the key promises of the Constitution, Article 27, which guarantees everyone the right of having their inherent dignity respected and protected.</p>
