The Egyptian parliament will begin hearing sessions next week for a number of public and legal figures on the draft of constitutional amendments, which would allow extending the presidential term from four to six years and a transitional clause that applies to President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to run for two more terms. Secretary of the Legislative and Constitutional Parliamentary Committee, MP Ihab al-Tamawi announced that hearings and discussions will last two weeks over six sessions, in order to hear the competent bodies and public figures, professors of constitutional law, and the media.
