Egypt presidency puts amended presidential elections law to public debate

<p><span><span><span>The Egyptian presidency has amended the presidential elections law, putting the changes forward Wednesday for public debate until 9 February.&nbsp;</span></span></span><span style="font-size: 1em; line-height: 1.5em;">I</span><span style="font-size: 1em; line-height: 1.5em;">nterim President Adly Mansour announced 26 January that Egypt's presidential elections would precede a parliamentary poll. The decision accordingly required amendments of two key political laws: Law 174 of 2005 on presidential elections, and the 1956 law on exercising political rights.</span></p>
