Specific Comments on the Judiciary Under the Interim Constitution

A basic system of justice remains, the Judiciary is independent, the appointment mechanism is weakened, important remedies before the Supreme Court are not available to non-citizens, there is a highly centralised system, the protection of independence of the lower courts' judges is not strong, there is no immunity from legal action for judges, the Judiciary must make an annual report to the Prime Minister, and military courts are now subject to the Supreme Court.
