Presidential Decree on Constitutional Loya Jirga

This text is a Presidential Decree on the Constitutional Loya Jirga.  It takes into account the history and the worthy national traditions of the Afghan people and operates in accordance with the Bonn Agreement, and details the procedure of the Loya Jirga, its structure and number of members.  It includes articles detailing election criteria, the procedure for the election of Loya Jirga members, and the election of representatives of women, refugees, internally displaced people, nomads, Hindus, and Sikhs.  It also outlines members to be selected by the Afghan government, the management of elections, ensuring security during the elections, and information on the Executive Committee.
