This is the Interim opinion on the Draft Law on civic work organisations of Egypt, issued by the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission). Adopted by the Venice Commission at its 95th Plenary Session (Venice, 14-15 June 2013), this Interim opinion is based on comments by Mr. Jan Helgesen (Member, Norway) and Mr. Peter Paczolay. This interim opinion, based on the draft law finalized by the Presidency 28 May and submitted to the Shura Council, examines the draft law against the background of the international standards and national legislation related to freedom of association and NGOs.
