The Constitutional Commission of Afghanistan
This document outlines the requirements for the Constitutional Commission. It details the number of members the Commission should consist of, as well as how the Chair should be appointed. The primary responsibilities are stated, including that they should consult widely with the people of Afghanistan and produce a Draft Constitution by the 30th of August, 2003, for submission to the Constitutional Loya Jirga in October. There is also a focus on women in the document, stating how the Commission will be working closely with the Ministry of Women Affairs, which together with UNIFEM, is collecting inputs, holding seminars and other public education programs about the constitutional rights of women. The memebers of the Constitutional Commission are listed at the end of the document.
