Zambia's commission for electoral reform delivers recommendations to government

The Electoral Commission of Zambia –ECZ- has officially handed over the Electoral Reform Technical Committee report to the Ministry of Justice. [ . . . ] Among the key recommendations in the report are the increase in the number of constituencies to enhance representation, introduction of biometric voter registration, and clearer procedures for handling candidate resignations or disqualifications ahead of elections. The Committee also proposed extending the nomination challenge period, reducing nomination fees, and introducing a 14-day pre-nomination verification period for candidates.
