A debate on Constitutional amendments will be broadcast live on the national radio and television network when the National Assembly holds its mid-year sitting this May and June, said the National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.
The debate will be part of the coming ninth session of the National Assembly that is scheduled to meet in Hanoi from May 5 to June 30, Man said at a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee in Hanoi on March 31.
This session which is expected to pass 11 draft laws and give opinions on 16 others covers many important issues related to the economy, society, national defense and security, as well as the construction of the country’s political system, he stated.
According to the top legislator, amendments and supplements to certain provisions of the 2013 Constitution will be considered, along with revisions to related laws to streamline the governmental apparatus in line with Resolution 18 of the Political Bureau.
