Ukraine: Draft amendments to the Constitution lodged with parliament

<p>A list of draft amendments to the Ukrainian constitution proposed by President Petro Poroshenko has been lodged with the country’s parliament, the Verkhovna Rada press service said Friday. A message on the Verkhovna Rada website confirmed that a piece of legislation titled “On Amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine (concerning the powers of the state and local governments)” was registered in the parliament Thursday.</p><p><br><br>The package of amendments was submitted by President Poroshenko, the parliament’s press office said. The new leader of Ukraine earlier made an announcement regarding his proposal at the PACE meeting in Strasbourg.</p>
