A constitutional commission is being created in Turkmenistan in connection with amendments and additions to the country's constitution, Trend reports referring to the decree of the President of Turkmenistan released on Sept. 26.
This structure will improve the activities of the representative legislative body of state.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov proposed an initiative for the transition to a bicameral parliamentary system. The head of state stated it at a meeting of the Halk Maslahaty (People’s Council) - the highest representative body of Turkmenistan.
