<p>Legal and Human Rights Centre (LHRC) has faulted the decision to postpone the ongoing constitution review process to pave the way for the General Election slated for next year saying the two processes can in no way overlap. The Centre gave its stand few days after President Jakaya Kikwete and members of the Tanzania Centre for Democracy (TCD) agreed that the Constitutional review process be postponed on October 4 and resume after the General Election. </p><p>Speaking to journalists in Dar es Salaam yesterday the centre’s Director of Empowerment and Accountability, Emelda Urio, said that Article 268 of the Draft Constitution provides for transitional period of four years before the new constitution comes into use. </p>
