General Abdourahamane Tiani, head of the Nigerien National Council for the Safeguarding of the Homeland (CNSP), launched a national conference on Saturday that promises to redefine Niger’s political direction. With the participation of more than 700 delegates representing various social and professional sectors and the diaspora, the meeting is a milestone in the country’s political transition, with the mission of developing proposals that will shape the future structure of government. [ . . . ] The conclusion of the conference will be followed by the analysis of the recommendations, which will serve as a basis for constitutional changes and the formation of a new civilian government. The transition will not only define the future of Niger, but could also influence political stability in the Sahel region, marked by challenges such as coups d'état, armed conflicts and international pressure.
