Nepal: Maoists, Madhesi parties planning protest for 'identity-based federalism'

<p>At a time when political parties have failed to settle thorny issues of
the new constitution, the main opposition party UCPN (Maoist) and
various Madhes-based political parties are preparing to take to the
street to press their demand.</p><p><br>

Alleging that the major political parties in the Constituent Assembly
(CA) -- Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML -- are not committed to
identity-based federal states, the parties united under the umbrella of
Federal Republic Front (FRF) have decided to simultaneously raise their
voice in both the street and parliament for identity-based federalism.
