Nepal lawmakers divided over compulsory military conscription provision of new constitution
<p>As the constitution drafting process gets momentum, Nepal's Constituent Assembly (CA) members are sharply divided over incorporating the compulsory provision of military conscription to the adults above 18 in the new constitution.</p><p><br>Speaking at the full House CA on Wednesday on the issues related to the new constitution, lawmakers from the UCPN (Maoist) and Nepal Workers and Peasant party leaders said military training to the adults above 18 would help to protect the country from possible foreign interference.</p>
