The current constitution, the fourth, was adopted on January 13, 1992, marking dramatic political reforms and the transition into a democratic society. Miyegombyn Enkhbold, chair of the State Great Khural, Mongolia's unicameral parliament, and other members of parliament laid wreaths on the statue of Damdinii Sukhbaatar, a key figure in Mongolia's struggle for independence.
