<p>Popularising the Federal Constitution is an approach that is capable of improving and nourishing patriotic sentiment among the people, according to constitutional law expert Assoc Prof Dr Shamrahayu Abd Aziz.</p><p>She said a more relaxed method, such as through songs and television programmes filled with patriotic messages, would be more effective compared with formal education on patriotism.</p><p>"We don't need to ask people, including students, what the Constitution is, but we must ask them what is the official religion of this country because it is patriotic elements like this that will increase their knowledge about the Federal Constitution." she said.</p>
