Lower house of Mexican legislature approves constitutional reforms on education

MEXICO CITY—The lower house of Mexico’s legislature approved constitutional education reforms that President Andrés Manuel López Obrador says would undo his predecessor’s landmark 2013 overhaul, one of the new president’s main campaign pledges. The bill still has to be passed by the Senate, where Mr. López Obrador’s party and its allies lack the two-thirds majority needed to amend the Constitution without some opposition support.
