Libya's prime minister reaffirms commitment to finalize constitution for elections

Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibeh has renewed his commitment to completing the country’s constitution and holding a referendum as a crucial step towards national elections. During a meeting with mayors from eastern and southern regions in Tripoli, Dbeibeh emphasized the importance of moving forward with both presidential and parliamentary elections. He also underscored his administration’s efforts to activate local governance under Law No. (59) of 2012, which aims to decentralize services to municipalities, highlighting the urgency of addressing critical infrastructure needs, particularly water and sewage systems, and eliminating outdated schools to create suitable educational environments.
