Kenyan Senate struck down constitutional bill on gender equity, paving way for judicial challenge

The Senate has, for the third time, struck down a Bill meant to guarantee a constitutional provision for gender equality in all positions in government. The proposed law failed to get the required numbers to have it move to the next stage of approval. It was supported by 37 of the 67 Senators.
