In Italy, lower house constitutional affairs committee approves proposal recognizing education and social value of sport in constitution

The Lower House's Constitutional Affairs Committee on [23 March] gave unanimous backing to a proposal to include sport in the Italian Constitution. The constitutional amendment bill has already been approved by the Senate at first reading and must now be approved by the Lower House and then again by both houses in order to pass. It is tabled for discussion in the Lower House in April. "The Republic recognizes the educational and social value and the value for promoting psycho-physical well-being of sporting activity in all its forms," recites the proposed amendment.
