India's regional court says tripple talaq violates Constitution

On Tuesday, 9 May 2017, India's regional Allahabad High Court ruled that triple talaq violates the Indian Constitution and that the rights of women cannot be infringed in the name of personal law. The court also stated that ‘fatwa’ (decree) on separation enjoys neither the backing of law, nor does it have any legal sanctity.
