In Cambodia, cabinet passes draft constitutional amendment with details to be announced at press conference

The Spokesperson of the Royal Government, Phay Siphan, has said that during the meeting of the Council of Ministers on Friday morning, 8 July, the Council fully approved the draft Constitution, and Prime Minister Hun Sen ordered the Minister of Justice to prepare to hold a press conference related to this important draft law. Spokesperson Phay Siphan did not specify where the draft Constitution was to be amended and only stated that "the details of the amendment to the constitution are to maintain the normal functioning of the administration as well as the interests of necessity to the people.” He said that the Minister of Justice, Koeut Rith, will hold a press conference later regarding this case.
