In Belarus, judiciary proposes limiting president's authority to appoint judges in new constitution

Functions of the head of state with regard to the appointment of judges may be simplified, BelTA learned from Chairman of the Supreme Court Valentin Sukalo. According to Valentin Sukalo, a total of 1,239 judges work in various Belarusian courts. He believes that the head of state does not have to personally appoint all of them.
