Australia High Court says yes to conducting referendum as statistical survey

Australia's High Court has today confirmed the validity of the government’s proposed postal survey on same-sex marriage. This means that from September 12, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) will post out surveys asking if the law should be changed to allow same-sex couples to marry.
