Objectives

The Government of Nepal has established a Nepal Peace Trust Fund in order to establish sustainable peace in the country. The overall objective of the Fund is to support successful implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement signed between the Government of Nepal and the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist). The Peace Fund provides a mechanism to channel and coordinate resources in five key areas, such as activities related to reintegration, elections- and constitution process, rehab of IDP's, strengthening of law and order and Government institutes.
