Op-ed: Libya’s draft constitution and the stalled political process

The author analyzes current political situation in Libya and its influence on the process of drafting of the new constitution. On the margins of this analysis she considers whether the recent meeting of the French Presi­dent Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister of Libya’s UN-backed government Fayez al-Sarraj and Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, who agreed to a ceasefire and to work through a political process to have presi­dential and parliamentary elections as soon as possible, will have positive effects in the country.
