External Oversight and Resources Key to True Constitutional Reforms in Zimbabwe

The Director of the Zimbabwe Coalition for Debt and Development (ZIMCODD), Dakarayi Matanga talks to International IDEA about the relevance of international assistance to Zimbabwe‘s Constitution building process. He also discusses the consequences of lack of transparency and accountability in loan contraction processes, as well as how constitutions can be used to address problems resulting from poor debt management. The interview was granted on the sidelines of a Dialogue for Constitution Building Practitioners organised by International IDEA and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) in Pretoria, South Africa in March 2011 on the theme Constitution Building and the Dynamics of Economic Change.
