Myanmar: Report of Constitutional Review Joint Committee’s findings and assessment

On 22nd day of the Sixth Meeting of the First Session of the Pyithu Hluttaw, Thura U Aye Myint, Member of Parliament form Pyithu Hluttaw submitted a proposal to form a committee or a commission for review of the Constitution (2008) as an important proposal to the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw and the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw approved his proposal.

With the approval of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw, a Constitutional Review Joint Committee was formed with 109 members in accord with an order number (41/2013) issued on 25.7.2013 and objectives, term, duties and responsibilities, procedures and rights of the Committee were approved with the order number (59/2013) issued on 27.8.2013.
