Theme Committee six Subcommittee on Monitoring: Submission for Block no. 2 on the Public Protector

Submission by the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) on the functions of the Public Protector. The IFP believes that provinces should have greater autonomy in structuring their Public Protectors than they have in the interim constitution. IFP have made proposals concerning the establishment of a Consumer Protection Commission and an Environmental Commission with powers and functions which are closely related to those of the Public Protectors. The submission includes proposals wih regard to the Public Protector, Environmental Commission, Consumer Affairs Commission and access to promote constitutional adjudication.
