DP Submission on Commission for Gender Equality

Submission by the Democratic Party (DP) to Subtheme Committee 6.3 regarding a Commission for Gender Equality (CGE). The DP supports a constitutionalisation of a CGE and suggests a provision. According to the DP the strongest argument for a separate gender commission is that it can link directly with a constituency. The implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women could be CGE's terms of reference according to the DP.
