Democratic Party: Submission to Theme Committee 3 - Intergovernmental Relations

Submission by the Democratic Party (DP) regarding the relationship between local, provincial and national levels of government in South Africa. It deals briefly with the current constitutional structures concerning intergovernmental relations and presents proposals regarding other intergovernmental structures. The Democratic Party suggests that there should be a Premier’s Forum or Council and that the provinces should be empowered to establish “Inter-Governmental Consultative Councils”.
