ANC Submission: Theme Committee Six - Sub-Theme Three: Commission on Gender Equality

Submission regarding gender equality by ANC. It is argued that the state should establish appropriate institutions to ensure the protection and promotion of equality for all women in South Africa. Different institutional options are considered, such as a Commission for Gender Equality, a Women’s Ministry, Women's desks, a Cabinet Committee or a focal point for women in an appropriate Ministry. It is discussed what role and functions these institutions could have and several important questions are raised that need to be addressed.
