In Bosnia and Herzegovina, constitutional court upholds constitutional and electoral law amendments made by high representative

The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina at a session held [on 24 March] found that the amendments to the FBiH Constitution and the changes to the BiH Election Law are in accordance with the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Article 1 of Protocol No. 12 to the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights rights and fundamental freedoms, as well as articles of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina made this decision upon the appeal [...] for the evaluation of the constitutionality of amendments to the Constitution of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and amendments to the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which were imposed on October 2 last year by the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt.
