South Africa Independent Media Commission Bill (Final Draft)

Final draft of the Media Commission Bill. The purpose of the Media Commission Bill is to establish the Independent Media Commission for the purpose of ensuring, during the period of the first national election for the National Assembly and other legislatures under the Constitution, held after the commencement of this Act, the equitable treatment of political parties by broadcasting services and that state-financed publications and state information services do not advance the interests of any political party; to define the composition, powers; functions and other duties of the said Commission; and to provide for incidental matters.
