Pakistan's Senate increases legislative seats for Balochistan and retains appointment power over election commission

A Senate committee on Monday approved an increase in the number of seats for the Balochistan Assembly and the province’s seats in the National Assembly and opposed a move to give the role to any other institution in the appointment of members of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) other than parliament.
