South Korea's opposition parties on Friday called for resumption of parliamentary discussions on a constitutional revision. The parties stressed that the referendum concerning the amended Basic Law should be held in tandem with local elections slated for June 2018 and that the discussions on how to rewrite the decades-old constitutional text must be led by the National Assembly. The proposal comes a day after President Moon Jae-in made the first mention of the Constitution amendment issue since his election last week.
