South South Regional Symposium on Constitution Building, Jakarta, Indonesia

The Constitution Building Processes Programme at International IDEA, with support from the IDRC - Canada, convened  this event in partnership with the Non Aligned Movement Center for South South Technical Cooperation (NAM CSSTC) from 12-15 October 2009 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Drawing from experiences in South and South East Asia, the over 30 Constitution building practitioners and academics coming from South and South East Asia, Latin America and Africa shared experiences and knowledge on how constitutional design has assisted the performance of the state in addressing diversity-driven conflict.
