Zambia constitutional amendment bill fails to reach two-thirds majority

<p>Justice minister Dr Ngosa Simbyakula yesterday deferred the Constitution Amendment Bill No. 6 of 2015 &nbsp;to the next sitting, after realising that the ruling party did not have the required two-thirds majority in the House to pass the law.&nbsp;<span style="line-height: 20.3999996185303px;">Dr Simbyakula argued that the government needed to consult further before proceeding with the Bill, which seeks to amend the current Constitution and increase the number of parliamentary constituencies from 150 to 156. </span></p>
