Nepal: CA chairman seeks power to bring out prelim draft

<p>Chairman of Constituent Assembly (CA) Subas Nembang on Thursday urged the major parties to grant him authority to bring a preliminary draft of constitution if agreement remains elusive both on contents and process to be adopted.</p><p>Nembang, however, advised the parties agree on the process to be adopted if they fail to sort out disputes over federalism, form of government, judiciary and electoral system. He told party leaders that he would start the process of preparing draft if the parties fail to meet his Sunday deadline. He asked them for an alternative to ensure the draft constitution by January 22 if they are not ready to grant him the authority.</p>
