Tanzania court sanctions hearing Katiba case

<p>AN attempt by the Attorney General (AG) to prevent the hearing of an application by Tanganyika Law Society (TLS) before the High Court in connection with the conduct of the Constituent Assembly (CA) hit snags.</p><p>A panel comprising Judges Augustine Mwarija, Aloysius Mujulizi and Fauz Twaib dismissed grounds of objection presented by the AG to oppose the application lodged by TLS for leave to apply judicial review.</p><p>In the application, the TLS is seeking court's permission to institute a case aimed at opposing several undertakings of the Assembly in respect of the drafting a new Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania.</p> Read the full article here: All Africa
