<p>China warned Japan Wednesday against undermining the interests of its neighbors by seeking to revise its war-renouncing constitution in line with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's desire for a greater military role in Asia. Abe has inched closer to amending Japan's post-World War II constitution that bans the use of military force beyond its borders, citing China's aggressive military build-up and North Korea's growing nuclear and missile threats.</p><p><br><br>A key article of the Japanese constitution renounces war as a sovereign right and limits the role of the Japanese military to self-defense. The United States has also voiced support for Abe's move to exercise the right of "collective self-defense."</p>
