Women demand right to input into transitional constitution: South Sudan

<p>A coalition of three women organisations in South Sudan has demanded the right to significant participation in the constitutional process, according to the <a title="South Sudan women want input in the transitional constitution" href="http://www.sudantribune.com/South-Sudan-women-want-input-in,38909">Sudan Tribune</a>. The demand was made during a women’s consultative conference organised over the weekend in Juba to consult on issues of gender and in particular, their representation in the next transitional government from July and the process of constitutionalism. The request comes as the South Sudanese Parliament prepares to endorse a draft transitional constitution that should be signed into law on July 9, the day after the official declaration of independence.
