Ukraine: Constitutional Amendment on decentralization is "70% ready"

<p>Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and Head of the Constitutional Commission Volodymyr Groysman says that the discussion of amendments into the Constitution of Ukraine on decentralization of power should be launched at the territorial (local) level.</p><p>At the end of the Constitutional Commission’s plenary meeting on Friday, May 15, Groysman noted that locally people have to understand the essence of the reform, which is aimed at the settlement of problems of proper financial support to exercising the powers delegated to local self-government bodies, which will facilitate raising capacity of territorial communities.</p>
