<p>They are cosmetic and merely aimed at keeping President Museveni in power, says Dr Niringiye.&nbsp;<span style="line-height: 20.3999996185303px;">Opposition political parties and civil society organization leaders have dismissed the cabinet’s proposed constitutional amendments, describing them as a cosmetic scheme to keep President Museveni in power.</span></p><p>The cabinet recently approved 57 changes to the constitution, one of them being amending Article 60 which relates to the constitution of the Electoral Commission.&nbsp;<br>Opposition and civil society leaders have been pushing for electoral reforms to ensure free and fair elections, with the composition of the EC at the centre of their agitation.</p>
